Contract Notice: California Department of Mental Health Issues Invitation for Bid for Licensed Vocational Nurse Registry Services

SACRAMENTO, Calif., May 13 -- California Department of Mental Health has issued an invitation for bid (No. 11-59008-000) for licensed vocational nurse registry services.

According to the description: "The California Department of Mental Health (DMH), Salinas Valley Psychiatric Program and Vacaville Psychiatric Program (SVPP/VPP) are seeking bids from registry services to provide temporary relief LVNs to provide services to patients at SVPP and VPP. These services will be performed at SVPP, which is located within Salinas Valley State Prison, 31625 Highway 101, Soledad, CA 93960; or at VPP, which is located within California Medical Facility, 1600 California Drive, Vacaville, CA 95696.

In submitting your bid, you must comply with the instructions found in the IFB. Failure to comply with any of the requirements may result in rejection of your bid. By submitting a bid, your firm agrees to the terms and conditions stated in the IFB and the proposed contract.

Note that all agreements entered into with the State of California will include by reference General Terms and Conditions and Contractor Certification Clauses that may be viewed and downloaded at Internet site www.ols.dgs.ca.gov/standard+language. The State reserves the right to award one (1) or multiple (up to ten (10)) Agreements for each location.

Under the administrative supervisions of the Supervising Registered Nurse (SRN) or Designee, to perform work at the DMH Psychiatric Program (SVPP and VPP) located at Salinas Valley State Prison and California Medical Facility, the Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides a basic level of general nursing care in to individuals with mental, emotional, or developmental disabilities, or visually impaired, medically ill, or infirm individuals; and does other related work. Assists the Registered Nurse in the delivery of medical and psychiatric nursing care to patients; assists other interdisciplinary treatment team members in the general delivery of treatment. Please carefully review and consider the detailed Scope of Work located in Attachment 9, commencing on Page 20 of the IFB, in order to complete your bid."
